OOIDA Call to Action – Missouri members
On
the biggest issue of 2006 that directly affects all truck operators, Missouri lawmakers gave the go ahead to the construction of a toll bridge in St. Louis over the Mississippi River. The measure passed by an overwhelming majority in
both chambers. The one hold up still in play is getting the state of Illinois to go along.

OOIDA Call to Action – Indiana members
Indiana lawmakers made a very big mistake earlier this year
when they voted for the virtual sale of the Indiana Toll Road – they did it
despite the overwhelming opposition of the voting public.
Your calls and letters against the leasing of the toll road
to foreign investors clearly fell on deaf ears. The lease was voted for by 51
representatives and 31 senators.

OOIDA Information Update - Indiana Members
Shortly before midnight Tuesday, March 14, Indiana lawmakers
gave final approval to Gov. Mitch Daniels’ plan to lease the toll road to a
foreign firm.
The vote in the House was extremely close at 51 for and 48
against. Unfortunately we were only able to turn one yes vote to a no instead
of the three we needed.
