(Grain Valley, Mo., June 1, 2007) – The Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association, Inc. (OOIDA) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2007 OOIDA Scholarships. The OOIDA scholarship committee performed blind evaluations of all the applications which came in from all across the country. These five scholars were selected as this year’s recipients. All applicants wrote a 500 word essay. Scholars were asked to list and discuss three positive aspects of the influence of the trucker in their lives; how does their choice of an educational goal utilize the strongest attributes of their personality; and to formulate a helpful suggestion for the Association on how to improve the public image of professional truck drivers.
OOIDA scholarships are available for children, grandchildren, and legal dependents of OOIDA members.
