Recommended reading: 'The Highwaymen' in Mother Jones magazine

Mother Jones is an independent, nonprofit magazine widely known for its straight-talking investigative reporting and its "progressive political values."

In the January/February 2007 issue, writers Daniel Schulman and James Ridgeway waded fearlessly into the controversial issue of privatizing American roads. The article is called "The Highwaymen" -- "Why you could soon be paying Wall Street investors, Australian bankers, and Spanish builders for the privilege of driving on American roads."

Among those quoted in the article is OOIDA Executive Vice President Todd Spencer.
