OOIDA vs Gilbert...

In October 2000, OOIDA brought suit against Gilbert Express, Inc. which was certified as a class by the federal court in Newark, New Jersey in February 2001.

In June 2001, Gilbert Express filed for bankruptcy reorganization in the federal court in Trenton, New Jersey.  In August 2002, the federal bankruptcy court approved OOIDA’s million dollar class action settlement with Gilbert.  To date, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been paid to class members.            

The class has been identified from Gilbert Express records and consists of people who entered into written leases with Gilbert Express by which they leased equipment and/or services to Gilbert Express for interstate transportation from October 19, 1996 to June 20, 2001.
