Murkowski's budget includes millions of dollars for new roads.
Among the projects:
-A route linking the small village of Rampart to the state's road system.
-Village connector roads in the Upper Yukon area.
-A proposed Yukon River Highway possibly running from the Elliott Highway to Unalakleet or possibly Nome.
-Money to purchase land for the Illinois Street expansion project in Fairbanks.
-Money to purchase land to widen University Avenue, also in Fairbanks.
Murkowski proposed the budget March 5; it is now before the state's Legislature.
