OOIDA Call to Action - Arkansas Members
January 28, 2003
Attention, Arkansas truckers! A bill in the state House needs your attention.
Rep. Don House (D-Walnut Ridge) has introduced legislation that
will help truckers in the state who were previously
base-plated elsewhere.
HB1030 would cap the sales tax at $1,000 for a truck
and $500 for a trailer. The bill also contains a clause that would
grant
a tax "amnesty" to homebound truckers who in the past would
otherwise have to pay big bucks in back taxes, penalties and
interest for base-plating out of
state.
The House is expected to vote on the bill Wednesday, Jan. 29.
It is vital that you contact your elected House official and let
them know
how important this bill is to you as an Arkansas trucker. For
