2/26/01 - A bill requiring Phoenix's diesel fuel to meet California's cleaner
diesel standards has been shelved. According to published reports,
the bill's sponsor, House Majority Leader Carolyn Allen of Scottsdale,
pulled the legislation because she doesn't have the time to push
the controversial measure.
HB2449 would have required
any diesel fuel sold in the Phoenix area after April 2003 to meet
the cleaner standards that are in place in California.
