7/18/03 - A bill that would shift funds from mass transit to highway construction is dead for this year.
SB74, sponsored by Senate President John Andrews, R-Centennial, would have shifted millions of dollars from the Regional Transportation District to highway construction.
The money is paying, in part, for a massive light rail project in the Denver metropolitan area. Votes on the bill were delayed several times, and the bill is now“deemed lost.”

3/14/03 - A twice-delayed Senate vote on a bill to shift funds from mass transit to highway construction in Colorado has now been delayed a third time.
SB74, sponsored by Senate President John Andrews, R-Centennial, would shift millions of dollars from the Regional Transportation District to highway construction. The money is paying, in part, for a massive light rail project in the Denver metropolitan area.
The first vote was scheduled for Feb. 26. It was delayed till March 7, then to March 14. The second reading in the Senate is now scheduled for Aug. 1, 2003.

3/5/03 - A preliminary vote on a bill that would transfer funds from mass transit to highway construction in Colorado has been delayed.
