Call to Action - Connecticut Members
March 5, 2003
Heads up, Connecticut truckers! Legislation in the state Assembly needs your attention.
Rep. Brian O'Connor (D-Westbrook)
introduced a measure to require trucks to travel 10 mph slower than
other vehicles on Connecticut highways.
Under HB5982, truckers would be slowed from 65 mph to 55 mph. All other
motorists would continue to cruise at 65 mph.
The bill is in the Joint Committee on Transportation. It is vital you
contact the committee members to let them know what split speeds would
mean to road safety. For contact information, visit www.cga.state.ct.us/asp/menu/MemberList.asp?comm_code=TRA&doc_type=,
or call OOIDA's membership department at 1-800-444-5791 and they'll
look it up.
