3/13/03-A bill in Florida
that would create a transportation authority to acquire property and
take out bonds to fund new toll roads in the southwest part of the state
is being withdrawn.
Under H257, the authority would operate in Collier and Lee counties,

The bill's sponsor, Rep. Mike Davis, R-Naples, withdrew the bill
after commissioners in Lee County requested he do so. Sen. Burt Saunders,
R-Naples, said he would do the same for the measure in the Senate.

more local input into the authority before moving forward.
