2/6/03 - A Florida
legislator said he plans to introduce a bill that could lead to more
toll roads in the southwestern part of the state.
Rep. Mike Davis (R-Naples) said his bill would create a group called
the Southwest Florida Transportation Authority, which could acquire
property and issue bonds to fund toll roads. The authority would operate
in Collier and Lee counties, which lie along the state's gulf coast
north of the Everglades.
The legislative session opens March 4 and close May 2.
