6/19/03-A bill that would force the state to spend toll revenue
on the highway where it was collected is now law.
SB221 requires the tolls to be spent either on the portion of
the highway where they were collected or on a section “physically or
operationally connected with and bearing the same state highway route number” as
the area where they were collected.
Gov. Sonny Perdue signed the bill into law June 4.
4/24/03-The General Assembly has approved a bill
that would force the state to spend toll revenue on the highway where
it was collected.
SB221 passed the Senate March 25 and the House April 22. It is
now on its way to the governor.
