12/10/03-The Georgia State Transportation Board wants to create a bank that would loan money to cities and counties in the state in an effort to speed work on highways and other roads.
The bank, which would have to be approved by the Legislature and Gov. Sonny Perdue, would need $100 million just to get off the ground.
Projects that could be aided include road widenings, highway interchanges, road improvements and new bridges.
