6/19/03-A bill regulating speed limits on state highways
as they pass through cities has died.
HB114 would have prevented local governments from setting speed
limits on state highways that pass through their boundaries. Under the
bill, the state DOT would have set the speed limits.
It was in the House transportation committee when the session
ended May 3.
3/6/03-An Idaho House bill regulating
speed limits on state highways as they pass through cities has been
sent back to committee.
HB114 would prevent local governments in the state from setting speed
limits on state highways that pass through their boundaries. Under
the bill, the state DOT would set the speed limits.
Officials from a number of Idaho cities have said they oppose the
measure.
The House, instead of scheduling the bill for a final vote, sent it
back to the transportation committee. For bill status, call (208)

R-Twin Falls, would prevent local governments from setting speed limits
on state highways that pass through their boundaries.
Under the bill, the state Transportation Department would set the
speed limits.
