5/5/03-A bill that would increase the weight of trucks on some of the state’s roads has been signed by the governor and is now law.
HB395 allows multiple trailer trucks with overweight permits to weigh up to 129,000 pounds, rather than the current restriction of 105,500 pounds. The trucks will only be allowed on specified highways in the state.
The new law will become effective July 1. However, it contains a “sunset clause,” which will take the law off the books in 2013, unless the Legislature renews it.

4/4/03-HB395 – similar to HB282 – would allow multiple trailer trucks with overweight permits to weigh up to 129,000 pounds, rather than the current restriction of 105,500 pounds. The bill requires overweight trucks to use their extra axle and adjusts which routes would be covered in the state.
