11/25/03-Lawmakers sympathetic to trucking were unable to pass several bills during a veto session that ended Nov. 20 designed to reverse parts of SB841 – a recently imposed Commercial Distribution Fee and tax on rolling stock exemption.
One of those bills – HB3854 – would have allowed truckers to pay the Commercial Distribution Fee in six monthly installments each year. The bill was before the House Rules Committee as the session ended.
It is likely to be reconsidered when legislators convene in mid-January.
