8/7/03-Three
state lawmakers say they plan to introduce a bill to allow photo radar
in construction zones.
Rep. Paul Froehlich, R-Schaumburg, Sen. John Cullerton, D-Chicago, and Rep. John Millner, R-Carol Stream, announced their plans to introduce the bill after a construction crew flagger was killed by a passing car in the Chicago suburbs.
Froehlich said he expected the cost of the cameras to be paid for by fines generated by speeders they catch.
They will introduce the bill during the General Assembly's fall veto session in November.
