6/30/03-The
Senate has approved a legislative package that would
roll back recent increases in Mackinac Bridge tolls and
freeze fairs until 2006-2007.
SB465, sponsored by Sen. Tony Stamas, R-Midland, would set aside at least $5.25 million annually for bridge improvement projects on the bridge.
The proposal is one of a five-bill package – SB464-468 – approved by the Senate. They now go before the House.
