OOIDA Call
to Action - Montana Members
March 27, 2003
Heads up, Montana truckers! Legislation in the state House needs your support.
State lawmakers have amended
a bill to protect truckers' rights to use muffled engine compression
brakes.
While considering HB237, which requires a muffler on any motor vehicle
equipped with an engine compression brake, the Senate Highways & Transportation
Committee amended the bill to make it clear that cities cannot prohibit
a truck from using an engine compression brake device
if the truck is equipped with a muffler.
The amended version passed the Senate March 24, and has been returned
to the House for approval of the amendment.
It is vital you contact your elected House official and let them know
the importance of engine compression brakes to road safety.

look it up.
