5/7/03-The House Public Works and Highways
Committee rejected legislation – HB272 – that would call
for a pilot study about restricting large truck traffic after sunset
on Ocean Road and Peverly Hill Road in Portsmouth.
The proposed study would collect and analyze data to determine
the differences in traffic volume, total number of trucks and noise
levels as a result of restricting large trucks from these roads.

Shultis (D-Portsmouth) has introduced a bill calling for a pilot study
about restricting large truck traffic after sunset on Ocean Road and
Peverly Hill Road in Portsmouth.
The proposed study would collect and analyze data to determine the differences
in traffic volume, total number of trucks and noise levels as a result
of restricting large trucks from these roads. The study would be conducted
from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. from March 1, 2004, through June 1, 2004.
HB272 was scheduled for a House public works committee hearing Jan.
