OOIDA Call to Action - Ohio Members

Attention: Ohio truckers! We need your help. Our legislation (HB186) to create a uniform 65 mph speed limit on Ohio's interstate highways will likely be scheduled for a vote in January.

We need you to make contact with the list of legislators below and let them know that you are supportive of HB186 and ask them to vote "Yes" on HB186. We urge you to:

• Call the legislators at their district office and their statehouse offices.
• Write letters and send e-mails to the legislators.
• Contact Angel at OOIDA (1-800-444-5791) and let us know if you would be part of our letter writing campaign to the newspapers across Ohio asking to support our initiative to pass Uniform Speed Limit Legislation.

We have been speaking with these lawmakers on the benefits of uniform speed limits, but they want to hear from the truckers across the state that support this legislation. These legislators have stated that they have not received many calls from Ohio truckers. We urge you to begin calling, writing letters and sending e-mails today.

We really can't overstate how important it is that you make yourself heard to lawmakers at least weekly until we get this legislation passed. Lawmakers have to know it is important to you. If it isn't important enough for you to bug them about it, the legislation isn't important enough to pass.
