4/4/03-OOIDA officials expect Ohio to introduce legislation by May 1 to eliminate the state’s speed differential between commercial and motor vehicles.
1/17/03-OOIDA officials
have reopened discussions with Ohio lawmakers about re-introducing legislation
in this year's session to eliminate the state's speed differential between
commercial and motor vehicles.
Todd Spencer, executive vice president at OOIDA, encourages Ohio association
members to call or visit their lawmakers. Spencer says it is important
that members get acquainted with their state lawmakers and communicate
that uniform speeds are safer for all drivers. Spencer also suggests
AAA Ohio Auto Club members contact club officials and ask that they
either support or, at the least, not oppose the measure.
The Ohio General Assembly opened Jan. 6 and is expected to adjourn in
about six months.
