Call to Action - Oklahoma Members
February 13, 2003
Heads up, Oklahoma truckers! Legislation introduced in the state Senate needs your attention.
Sen. James Williamson (R-Tulsa)
has introduced a bill to slow down big rigs on state roadways.
Under the measure, trucks would be required to travel 10 mph below the
posted limit. SB331 also prohibits tractor-trailers from driving in
a highway's left lane.
The bill is in the Senate Transportation Committee. It is vital you
contact the committee members to let them know what split speeds and
lane restrictions would mean to road safety. Committee members'
contact information is available at www.lsb.state.ok.us/senate/welcome.html.
