7/2/03-A bill that would require Pennsylvania
and New Jersey auditors general to work together to perform annual
financial and management audits of the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge
Commission remains in the Senate Transportation Committee.
Sen. Lisa Boscola, D-Bethelem, introduced the requirements in
the Senate in February, but SB187 has not yet moved past the committee
level.
The commission, which maintains and operates seven toll bridges
and 13 free bridges between New Jersey and Pennsylvania, exists under
an interstate agreement that requires each state and Congress to adopt
identical laws regulating its operation.
