OOIDA
Call to Action - Tennessee Members
February 28, 2003
Heads up, Tennessee truckers! Legislation introduced in the state House and Senate needs your attention.
Under HB954 and SB729, big
rigs would be prohibited from driving in the left lane on interstate
or multi-lane divided highways, except when passing. Violators could
be subject to a $50 fine.
Both bills are in their respective transportation committee. It is vital
you contact the committee members to let them know what lane restrictions
would mean to road safety.
Committee members' contact information is available at www.legislature.state.tn.us/.
Click on the "House" link at left, then on "Committees,"
and finally "Transportation" at right. Repeat the above steps
for the Senate. Members can also call OOIDA's membership department
at 1-800-444-5791 and they'll look it up.
