6/24/03-A bill to prohibit big rigs from driving in the left
lane on state roadways is dead for the year.
Under HB954, sponsored by Rep. Jamie Hagood, R-Knoxville, truck
tractors and semi-trailers would be restricted to the right-most lane of
interstate or multi-lane divided highways, except when passing. Violators
could be subject to a $50 fine.
It was in the House Transportation Committee when the session
ended May 29.
