2/6/03-Texas lawmakers are expected to consider a measure during this legislative session to push fuel prices higher to help pay for badly needed highway projects.
The proposal calls for increasing the state's 20-cent-per-gallon fuel tax by 2 cents a gallon every year for the next 10 years. The revenue would go toward building new roads and maintaining old ones.
The regular session is scheduled to end June 2.
