3/27/03-Gov. Mark Warner
signed off on a measure March 22 doubling speeding fines in highway
work zones.
HB1733, sponsored by Delegate John A. Rollison III, R-Woodbridge, was
approved Feb. 18 in the Senate by a 40 to 0 vote. It previously passed
the House by a 98 to 2 vote.
The bill increases the fine for speeding in work zones from $250 to
$500 when highway workers are present or traffic control devices are
in place indicating work in progress.
