5/27/04-A measure that would have deleted the current provision in state law that prohibits a law enforcement officer of a municipality with a population of less than 19,000 from enforcing speed limits on any interstate highway within the municipality has died.
HB192, sponsored by Rep. Cam Ward, R-Alabaster, remained in the House Public Safety Committee when the session ended May 17.
3/10/04-HB192 would delete the current provision in state law that prohibits a law enforcement officer of a municipality with a population of less than 19,000 from enforcing speed limits on any interstate highway within the municipality.
