4/9/04-A bill that would require the driver and passengers in a motor vehicle stopped by a police officer between the hours of sunset and sunrise to remain in the vehicle has died.
SB6, sponsored by Sen. Mike Crotts, R-Conyers, also sought to require the vehicle to be turned off and the interior lights turned on. Anyone found in violation of the order could be fined $150; $250 for each subsequent offense.
It was awaiting consideration in the full Senate when the regular session ended April 7.
