6/21/04-A bill that would have required motorists in Iowa to use their headlights during inclement weather has died.
HB2075, sponsored by Rep. Joe Hutter, R-Bettendorf, remained in the House Transportation Committee past the March 9 deadline for House and Senate bills to pass out of their originating chamber, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill required the use of headlights whenever rain, snow, fog or other atmospheric conditions require the use of windshield wipers. Violators would have been subject to a $20 fine.
