3/23/04-A measure that sought to change speed limits in the state has died.
The Senate Transportation Committee failed to vote on the proposal prior to the deadline for bills to be forwarded to the full chamber for consideration, killing the bill for the year.
SF2033, introduced by Sen. Steve Kettering, R-Lake View, would push the speed limit for all vehicles on the state’s four-lane expressways from 65 mph to 70 mph and from 55 mph to 60 mph on all other primary highways. Under the bill, cities would maintain the authorization to set lower limits.
