3/23/04-A measure that sought to slow large truck speeds in the state has died.
The Senate Transportation Committee failed to vote on the proposal prior to the deadline for bills to be forwarded to the full chamber for consideration, killing the bill for the year.
SF2035, sponsored by Sen. Maggie Tinsman, R-Bettendorf, would lower the maximum allowable expressway speed from 65 mph to 55 mph for vehicles with a gross weight exceeding 10,000 pounds.
1/29/04-Sen. Maggie Tinsman, R-Bettendorf, has introduced a measure that would lower the maximum allowable expressway speed from 65 mph to 55 mph for vehicles with a gross weight exceeding 10,000 pounds. All other vehicles would continue to drive at 65 mph.
