9/8/04-A bill that would have slowed large trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 50,000 pounds has died.
HB1170, sponsored by Rep. Gary Smith, remained in the House Transportation, Highways and Public Works Committee at the close of the session June 21, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill called for slowing the 18-wheelers by 5 mph less than the limit applicable to other vehicles.
