3/10/04-A bill that would require drivers in Mississippi to flip on their headlights when weather limits visibility has died.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Roger Ishee, R-Gulfport, failed to pass out of the House Transportation Committee prior to the deadline for House and Senate committees to report out bills and constitutional amendments originating in their chambers.
HB155 called for permitting police to ticket drivers for failure to turn on their headlights during bad weather. It also would prohibit the use of only parking lights.

1/27/04-The House Transportation Committee is reviewing legislation that would require drivers in Mississippi to flip on their headlights when weather limits visibility.
HB155, sponsored by Rep. Roger Ishee, R-Gulfport, would permit police to ticket drivers for failure to turn on their headlights during bad weather. It also prohibits the use of only parking lights.
Violators could be fined $25.
