6/21/04-A bill that would have required motorists in Mississippi to use their headlights during inclement weather has died.
SB2419, sponsored by Sen. Sidney Albritton, R-Picayune, failed to pass out of the House Transportation Committee prior to the deadline for House and Senate committees to report out bills and constitutional amendments originating in their chambers.
The bill required the use of headlights whenever rain, snow, fog or other atmospheric conditions require the use of windshield wipers. It prohibited the use of parking lights during times when headlights are required.
Violators would have been subject to a fine up to $25.
