5/26/04-A bill before the Senate Transportation Committee would require all trucks over 18,000 pounds registered in New York to have front-end mirrors installed on each side.
S6489, sponsored by Sen. Martin Golden, R-Brooklyn, is intended to increase the visibility of objects and pedestrians located near the truck.
The bill would apply to trucks determined by the state departments of Transportation and Motor Vehicles to have increased visibility with the addition of the convex mirrors.
