3/24/04-Gov. Mike Rounds signed HB1180 into law repealing the state tax on trucking services.
The new law revokes a 4 percent state tax on freight picked up and delivered within the state. Out-of-state haulers have been permitted to load and transport freight outside the state or bring products in without the same charge.
2/25/04-The Senate forwarded legislation to Gov. Mike Rounds that would repeal the state tax on trucking services. House lawmakers previously approved the measure.
The Senate voted 33-2 Feb. 24 in favor of HB1180, which would revoke a 4 percent state tax on freight picked up and delivered within the state. Out-of-state haulers are permitted to load and transport freight outside the state or bring products in without the same charge.
