2/26/04-A House bill that would prohibit big rigs from the left lane on state roadways has been withdrawn from consideration.
Under HB2182, introduced by Rep. Bob Patton, R-Johnson City, truck tractors and semi-trailers would be restricted to the right-most lanes of interstate or multi-lane divided highways, except when passing or instructed by emergency personnel. Violators could be subject to a $50 fine.
An identical bill – SB2108 – is in the Senate Transportation Committee.

An identical bill – SB2108 – was also introduced in the Senate. The bills are awaiting assignment to committee.
