6/3/05-A bill that would have deleted the requirement for Social Security numbers to be on commercial driver’s licenses or accident reports has died.
HB190, sponsored by Rep. Jimmy Martin, D-Clanton, was awaiting a final vote before the full Senate when the session ended May 16, effectively killing it for the year. It previously passed the House.

5/10/05-The Senate Commerce, Transportation and Utilities Committee voted 5-0 May 5 to advance a bill that would delete the requirement for Social Security numbers to be on commercial driver’s licenses or accident reports.
HB190, which previously passed the House, has been forwarded to the full Senate for further consideration.
