7/25/05-A bill that sought to eliminate the requirement that Social Security numbers be listed on a motor vehicle accident report has died.
HB459, sponsored by Rep. Jim Carns, R-Mountain Brook, was awaiting final approval before the full Senate when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year. It previously passed the House.
Existing state law requires a motor vehicle accident to list the Social Security number of the operators of the motor vehicles involved in the accident.
