3/3/05-A bill that would have required covers on loads of gravel or rock hauled by truck has died.
The “tarp bill” – HB1066 – was amended to limit the tarp requirement to gravel or rock trucks. The original version, offered by Rep. Shirley Borhauer, R-Bella Vista, failed to single out the loads.
Despite the change, the full House voted 46-41 on March 2 to reject the bill, effectively killing it for the year.

1/21/05-The House Public Transportation Committee returned a bill that would require covers on loads hauled by truck.
The “tarp bill,” sponsored by Rep. Shirley Borhauer, R-Bella Vista, was intended to affect trucks carrying only gravel or rocks, but the bill didn’t limit the tarp requirement to those trucks.
Borhauer intends to amend the bill – HB1066 – and resubmit it to the panel for consideration.
