4/19/05-The House has rejected a bill that would have allowed the state highway department to increase speeds on rural highways beyond the 75 mph limit.
Lawmakers voted 44-16 against the bill April 12. The Senate approved it last month.
Sen. Thayer Verschoor, R-Gilbert, sponsored SB1330.

4/11/05-A bill under review before the full House would allow the state highway department to increase speeds on rural highways beyond the 75 mph limit.
Sponsored by Sen. Thayer Verschoor, R-Gilbert, SB1330 would simply permit, but not require, Arizona’s transportation director to make the change.
The bill previously passed the Senate. If approved in the House, it would go to Gov. Janet Napolitano.

2/24/05-SB1330 The Senate Transportation Committee has approved a bill that would allow the Arizona Department of Transportation to increase speeds on rural highways beyond the current 75 mph limit.
The bill, offered by Sen. Thayer Verschoor, R-Gilbert, now heads to the full Senate. For Senate bill status, call (602) 926-4231.
