6/10/05-A bill that would have hiked the fine for truckers who illegally travel on a state parkway has died.
HB5466, sponsored by Rep. Lile Gibbons, R-Greenwich, was awaiting consideration before the full House when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year. It previously passed the Joint Judiciary Committee.
The bill sought to increase the fines from $75 to $250 for truckers who use the following designated parkways:
- Route 15 from New York to the Housatonic River Bridge in Milford (the Merritt Parkway);
- Route 15 from the Housatonic River Bridge to I-91 in Meriden (the Wilbur Cross Parkway); and
- U.S. Route 1 to Route 15 in Milford (the Milford Parkway).
5/25/05-The Joint Judiciary Committee has approved a bill that would hike the fine for truckers who illegally travel on a state parkway.
HB5466, sponsored by Rep. Lile Gibbons, R-Greenwich, would increase the fines from $75 to $250 for truckers who use the following designated parkways:
