7/26/05-A bill that sought to hike the state’s diesel fuel tax has died.
HB6837 was awaiting consideration in the Senate when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year.
It would have exempted diesel fuel purchased in the state from the gross earnings tax. In return, the tax on diesel would have increased from 26 to 32 cents per gallon. The added revenue would have gone to the Special Transportation Fund.
