4/11/05-A bill that would have required that the Greenwich weigh station on Interstate 95 to be open 16 hours a day to increase inspections has died.
SB558, offered by Sen. Robert Duff, D-Norwalk, remained in the Joint Transportation Committee past the deadline for bills to pass out of the panel.

2/25/05-A bill sponsored by Sen. Robert Duff, D-Norwalk, would require that the Greenwich weigh station on Interstate 95 be kept open 16 hours a day to increase truck inspections.
SB558 is intended to “protect drivers on I-95 from trucks that are dangerous, overweight and not adhering to Connecticut law and to reduce maintenance on highways caused by overweight and dangerous trucks,” Duff wrote.
The bill is before the Joint Transportation Committee. For bill status, call (860) 240-0555.
A similar bill offered by Duff – SB344 – also is before the Transportation Committee.
