11/15/05-Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, has filed a bill that would require bright pink license plates on vehicles driven by people with restricted driving privileges due to convictions for driving under the influence.
The proposal calls for the first three characters on the plate to read “DUI.”
It also would permit police to make random stops on vehicles displaying the special license plates.
SB538 is awaiting assignment to a committee for the legislative session that begins in March.
