The Georgia Department of Transportation has scheduled three public meetings later this month to get feedback on a statewide transportation plan.

The 12-month study is intended to provide a comprehensive look at all transportation issues facing Georgia through the year 2035, including existing conditions, growth trends and forecasts, and future conditions.

Planners will focus on all modes of transportation – highway, public transit, railroad, air, water, pedestrian and bicycle.

Public meeting dates and locations are:

  • North/Central Georgia: 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Capital Education Center, 180 Central Ave., Atlanta 30303.
  • Southeast/Coastal Georgia: 5-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St., Savannah, GA, 31401.
  • South Georgia: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the UGA Tifton Conference Center, 15 RDC Rd., Tifton, GA, 31794.

Anyone who wants additional information about the public meetings or is unable to attend but would still like to provide comment should contact Tim Kassa, GDOT project manager, at (404) 651-5329 or e-mail him at tamrat.kassa@dot.state.ga.us.
