7/12/05-A bill that sought to require any teenager applying for a driver’s permit to be tested for controlled substances, including marijuana has died.
HB159, sponsored by Rep. Roger L. Eddy, R-Hutsonville, remained in the House Transportation and Motor Vehicles Committee at the deadline to advance to the full chamber, effectively killing it for the year.
It would have made teens under 18 applying for an instruction permit pay a fee and undergo the drug test.
