10/17/05-A bill in the Joint Committee on Transportation would allow police to ticket drivers who fail to flip on their headlights during bad weather.
Current state law requires all vehicles to be equipped with headlights and to use them in darkness.
H2122, sponsored by Rep. Timothy Toomey Jr., D-Cambridge, would require lights to be on whenever the windshield wipers of the vehicle are in use.
For House bill status, call (617) 722-2356.
A similar House bill – H2084 – also is in the committee.
